Integrate Verizon EMAG with PageGate |
PageGate supports sending messages through Verizon's Enterprise Messaging Access Gateway (EMAG).
When registering on EMAG, we recommend registering for the SMTP and SNPP API's. Registering for both allows you to configure SNPP, the more efficient protocol, as the primary method of delivery with SMTP as a failover method for redundancy.

Alarm and Security Monitoring Message Flow |
Alarm and security monitoring software triggers a message. PageGate picks up the message, then does any one or combination of the following options including: executes a batch file, runs a script, updates an API, passes the text message to a messaging aggregator, sends a fax, sends email, interacts with a HIPAA compliant messaging solution, updates the Web API, sends text to cell phone or pager, updates a chat client, or sends message to an enterprise messaging solution.

How Message Volume Impacts Cellular Hardware |
Cellular hardware is, by far, the fastest and most reliable method of sending SMS with PageGate. However, the hardware itself has its own limitations on how fast it can push the traffic to the outside world.
Typically speaking, cellular hardware will be able to accept one message for delivery every 2 or 3 seconds, which means that the upper delivery rate on most cellular hardware is between 20 and 30 messages per minute. If you try to push more traffic than the device is capable of handling, you'll receive a CMS Error 500 indicating that the device has been overloaded and that can cause message delivery headaches like missed messages.
