PageGate Helps Reduce Response Times in Rural Areas |
According to Kurtti, the fire department was paged at 11:49 a.m. and got help from the McMillan Township, Trout Creek and Watersmeet fire departments, Sonco Ambulance and the Michigan State Police on site.
The scene was cleared around 2:42 p.m., Kurtti said. I…would like to thank everyone for responding and helping out as many of us work out of town and had a lot of distance to cover. Without Page Gate, a new system used by MSP Station 80 in Negaunee that sends a text message to our phones, most of us would have been (too far) out of pager range to be notified.
Kurtti said the new system has been in place for seven months has been helping increase response times in rural communities.
