When a recruiter receives a role, they might have 400 contacts that they know could fill the job – so what to do next?

06/27/2016 Grandparenting Through Text Message

I do not think grandparenting through text message and Facebook is how either of us would like it to be. And honestly, when I think about that, it makes me want to work harder to get along with my own children. And it also makes me hopeful that maybe, just maybe, using text and social media to reconnect with my mother will change things. Perhaps it will be the beginning of a rebirth for our relationship. One where I can call her for advice. One where we can casually chat and love each other without thinking about old tainted memories.

06/10/2016 How Realtors are Using Text Messaging

It is clear that text messaging is a powerful and effective way to bolster workplace communication, and therefore workplace function, across fields. Perhaps less obvious is the potential marketing power texting holds for fields like realty. Realty marketing can be costly, making it ideal to cut marketing costs and increase return on investment. Text messaging, when used right, can do just that.

Automated texting is one way to save real estate agents time and labor. By offering customers a means to text in codes to automatically receive additional information about a listing, such as important details or answers to frequently asked questions, real estate agents could save large amounts of time taking calls or answering emails.

06/04/2016 Send Orders By Text Messages

The Joint Commission has repealed its ban on the texting of orders for care, treatment, and services for all accredited hospitals and healthcare organizations as long as texting is done through a secure sign-on text messaging platform with several required features.

The ban was instated by the commission in 2011 over security concerns, but recent research suggests that platforms can be made secure and only authorized individuals can send and receive orders from their tablets and smartphones.

A recent study found that secure text messaging can help reduce hospital stays from 6 to 5.4 days within a month compared to traditional paging systems.

05/28/2016 Can SMS Bolster Skin Cancer Prevention?

Summer is in full swing, and for many of us, months of bright and sunny weather lie ahead. But before you pack the car and head to the beach, are you making sure you are protecting yourself from sun damage? If you find yourself forgetting the sunscreen or the hat a little too often, a new study from Australia may have a solution for you-- and that solution takes the form of texting.

Sun protection is of huge importance. We are hardly used to looking at a sunburn as a huge deal, but even one severe sunburn in one's childhood, or only five sunburns throughout one's life, can double one's risk of skin cancer, specifically melanoma. For our health and safety, it is critical to practice good sun protection habits.
