Text Messages Improve Birth Control Compliance, Says Study |
Study after study points to the power of text messaging to connect health care providers to their patients, improving patient compliance with medications and appointments and giving medical professionals better data. A 2015 Johns Hopkins University study on birth control compliance in young women is no exception, demonstrating the potential texting holds to impact the often underserved area of women's health.
The study, published online in the Journal of Adolescent Health in May, recruited about 100 participants living in Baltimore. The participants, all young women between the ages of 13 and 21, were using the contraceptive injection.

How Construction Firms are Using Text Messaging |
Texting has become a major mode of communication and coordination for many workplaces, allowing colleagues to exchange information rapidly and effectively. While SMS is of great aid to office environments, firms with more widely distributed work sites could benefit even more from the extensive and efficient communication network that texting affords. Construction firms are no exception, where text messaging is put to task as an effective way of keeping employees up to date and safe.
Using text messaging to perform basic employee coordination is especially important for construction firms, which may mobilize multiple teams of workers to a range of sites in one day.

How Text Messaging Tap And Encourage Students To Apply for College |
With the hundreds of thousands of high school students who graduate every year, many of them make unwisdecisions about where to go to college or whether they should be going to college. A lot of them make the wrong choices about the institutions they enroll to, and a lot more even decide to never enroll at all.
In order to close this gap, a new approach in the form of text messaging was put in place to reach students during summer and encourage and remind them of the deadlines and the requirements of the college or university they intend to apply for. This is in fact a smart move because young people love to text and this form of communication has already somehow replaced phone calls.
In a study, 72 percent of low income students who got the text message decided to enroll in college, according to NY Times, compared to the 66.4 percent who were not able to get the information.

Text Your Way to College |
Every year, hundreds of thousands of high school seniors make bad choices about where — or whether — to go to college. Some who would excel at top-ranked institutions opt for second-tier institutions. And more than 200,000 students who have been accepted by colleges never enroll.
The good news is that, for students in both groups, a dollop of information or a helpful nudge can change their decisions.
Many high achievers from poor families don’t even consider elite schools. Scared off by the sticker price, they enroll at community colleges and less selective institutions instead. That is one reason 72 percent of students at the most competitive universities come from families in the top quarter of the income bracket, while students from families in the bottom quarter make up only 3 percent.

6 Things That Do Not Translate Well Over Text Messages |
Texting has become a gateway of covering real, raw emotions of what we actually mean vs. what we think it means. Yes, I blame texting for this because there is always a misinterpretation of what someone sends you.
There are some emotions, sentiments, and words that we should try to keep alive and well in the dying art of a face to face conversation. Some words just do not feel the same when Iȗm seeing it light up on my phone than hearing it. When I hear your voice and see your face a whole new connection is being made.

Here is How The New Wave Of Messaging Has Transformed Customer Service |
If your customers will not even call Mom on the phone anymore (they are texting her instead), why are you forcing them to call your business on the phone any time they need customer service or support?
In their personal lives, your customers spend five times longer messaging (texting) every day than they do on voice calls, and this is true across all demographics: Millennials exchange an average of 67 text messages each day with friends and family, and the use of texting by older customers follows close behind.
