by another website.
There are a number of actions that webmasters can
take to proactively protect their work from being
used without authorization by people on the web who
are simply looking to cut corners. Take the following
steps to proactively guard your content...

Translation |
Just because you can not speak another language does
not mean you can not text in it. Mobile network AT&T
is trialing technology that lets customers send and
receive text messages that are automatically translated
from English to Spanish and back. A person simply
registers a phone number as having a preferred language.
Messages sent to that number in a different language
are then automatically translated before being relayed
to the persons phone.

10/11/2012 Miss Manners
on Digital Messaging |
In an age when people can choose among text messages,
email, Facebook and old-fashioned stamps and printed
cards, the chance to use the wrong method when sending
your very best is quite high.
What to do?
Well, AP went straight to an expert among experts:
Judith Martin, author of the syndicated Miss Manners
column, who offers guidance on dealing with the evolving
etiquette of expressing sincere sentiments in an increasingly

Shooting Suspect Sent Texts Before Murder |
James Holmes planned to use a series of text messages
before the Aurora movie theater shooting spree that
left 16 people dead -- and these messages may reveal
the accused murders state of mind.
The messages, released Friday upon request by multiple
media organizations, were heavily redacted, according
to USA Today, one of the companies that made the request.
Uncensored portions of the documents reveal that Holmes
sent a series of text messages to a fellow student
shortly before the July 20 shooting took place.

Authorities Communicate with Rebels via Text |
Syrian authorities on Thursday sent text messages
over cellphones nationwide with a message for rebels
fighting President Bashar al-Assads regime: Game
over.
The messages signed by the Syrian Arab Army also urged
the rebels to surrender their weapons and warned the
countdown to evict foreign fighters has begun. The
texts appear to be part of the regimes psychological
battle against the rebels, but are highly unlikely
to have any effect on fighters intent on toppling
Mr. Assad.

10/08/2012 SMS for
Cows? |
When Christian Oesch was a boy on his families hog
farm, cellphones were a thing of the future. Now,
Oesch tends a herd of dairy cattle and carries a smartphone
wherever he goes. Occasionally, he gets an SMS text
from one of his cows.
That is because Oesch, 60, who cares for a herd of
44 Red Holstein and Jersey dairy cows, is helping
to test a device that implants sensors in cows to
let farmers know when they are in heat. When that
is the case, the device sends an SMS to the farmer's
phone. The Swiss do not settle for half measures:
The SMS can be in any one of Switzerlands three main
languages -- German, French and Italian -- plus English
or Spanish.

the phone and its content is of crucial importance.
However, the law of warrantless searches of cell phones
is not yet settled.
