Texting can be a wonderful and convenient thing Ȓ
but thereȗs nothing worse than receiving a message
with such garbled grammar that you canȗt figure out
what itȗs trying to say, or multiple messages all
in a row, or the dreaded We need to talk text.

Increases Diabetes Awareness in Africa with SMS and
E-learning |
According to the World Health Organization, an estimated
382 million people around the world suffer from diabetes,
which represents a prevalence of 8.3 percent. If the
condition is caught early, diabetes can be managed
with the right diet, exercise and medication.
This, however, is not always possible in developing
countries with limited resources and healthcare infrastructures.
The International Diabetes Federation said the number
of people with diabetes in Africa will double by 2035,
and nearly half or 46 percent of people living with
diabetes in the continent are still undiagnosed. The
oldest pharmaceutical and chemical company, Merck,
has announced the launch of its second year of a five-year
project to provide European Accredited Clinical Diabetes
Management courses for medical and pharmacy students
in African Universities by introducing E-Learning.

greatly improve that awareness.

09/15/2014 In a Study,
Text Messages Add Up to a Balance Sheet of Everyday
Morality |
Committing a small act of kindness, like holding
the door for a harried stranger, often prompts the
recipient to extend a hand to others, but it comes
at a cost, psychologists have long argued. People
who have done the good deed are primed to commit a
rude one later on, as if drawing on moral credit from
their previous act.
Now, in a novel survey of everyday moral behavior,
researchers have tested whether that theory holds
up in real life. It does, though the effects appear
small.
The findings come from a survey of everyday morality
in which researchers tracked people’s moral judgments
and attitudes at regular intervals throughout a typical
day, using text messages.
