Integration with Glenayre On-Site Terminals

PageGate can both output to and receive input from Glenayre on-site paging terminals using the TAP protocol.

Configure PageGate to Output to the Glenayre Terminal

  1. Open the PageGate Admin.
  2. Go to Connectors — Connector X — Settings.
    Any connector can be configured to reference a paging terminal.
  3. Set the Serial Port field to match the COM/Serial port the terminal is plugged in to.
  4. Check Direct Connect. Click Apply.
  5. Right click Carriers, left click Add.
  6. Specify the following:
    Name: Glenayre
    Protocol: TAP
    Baud Rate: [Mirror the paging terminal's setting]
    Parity: [Mirror the paging terminal's setting]
    Data Bits: [Mirror the paging terminal's setting]
    Stop Bits: [Mirror the paging terminal's setting]
    Init String: direct
  7. Click Apply. Configure recipients to use the Glenayre carrier. Use the pager's cap code or ID in the ID/PIN field.

Configure PageGate to Receive Input from the Glenayre Terminal (GetTAP)

  1. Open the PageGate Admin.
  2. Go to Interfaces — GetTAP — Settings.
  3. Set the Serial Port field to match the COM/Serial port the terminal is plugged in to.
  4. Specify Baud Rate, Parity, Data Bits, and Stop Bits to mirror the paging terminal's settings.
  5. Set Init String to: direct
  6. Check Enabled. Click Apply. When prompted, enable for all existing groups and recipients.
