SQL Server Module and PageGate; New High Availability and Disaster Recovery Options in PageGate version 10
PageGate version 10 supports using MS SQL (Express and Server), which opens up a new array of disaster recovery and high availability implementation methods.
Typically speaking, there are two methodologies for an HA/DR environment:
1) In-line Failover
With this implementation style, you'll have a single SQL database that resides on a separate SQL server. You can then install PageGate on multiple servers and only have one active server at a time. If one server goes down, another may be brought up as all of the information about the implementation is contained within the database.
2) Load Balanced
With this implementation style, each PageGate server will have its' own unique SQL database (whether on the same server/cluster or otherwise) and PageGate's synchronization system will handle replication of data between PageGate instances. Then all systems can be placed behind a single hostname and traffic can be load balanced across all servers in real time.
For critical systems that absolutely must keep down-time to a minimum, these implementation methods can be real time savers!

What is PageGate Priority Support and Why it Matters?
Just a reminder IF you wish to schedule an upgrade or time with NotePage technical support you *MUST* have PageGate Priority Support. You must be on the current version to add Priority Support to your license. In addition to priority access to NotePage support all version upgrades are available free of charge while you have Priority Support.
Anti-Spam Messages
Due to the large volume of spam messages being sent using SMTP, many of the Carriers have implemented anti-spam protocols which are impacting legitimate messages being sent using Email delivery. As a result the carriers public Email-to-SMS gateways are no longer reliable for moderate or high volume environments and should not be used on systems planning to send more than 250 messages per day.
