PageGate TouchTone Setup Transcript for Video:
Welcome to the tutorial on how to configure the
PageGate GetTouchTone Module.
In this tutorial, we'll be going over what the
GetTouchTone Module is, how it functions, and
how to configure it.
Before we begin, the GetTouchTone Module module
requires the PageGate GetASCII module to function
properly. For steps on how to configure the GetASCII
module, please watch our Basic GetASCII configuration
tutorial at our website, www.notepage.net
Also, it should be noted that any modem that
you use MUST be a voice modem. Only voice modems
are capable of interpreting touch tones. DataFax
modems that do not have the voice capability cannot
interpret touch tones at all.
The GetTouchTone Module module for PageGate allows
the program to monitor a modem for incoming touch
tones.
The first step is to configure the initialization
file for the server.
In Windows, go to your start menu, then left
click on Run.
In the Run line, enter the full path to the snpp.ini
file contained within your PageGate program directory.
By default, this path is c:\program files\pagegate\ppggttone.ini
Once the ini file is open, there are a few sections
we'll need to fill out.
The first is RunStyle.
By default, the GetTouchTone module runs as an
application but it can run as a system services.
For now, leave it on Application.
Since we aren't changing the run style, leave
SwitchStyle to False.
Next is Silence Timeout. This is the number of
seconds the Program will wait during periods of
silence. If the program doesn't receive anything
after 5 seconds, it will hang up.
Next is the Data Folder. The Data Folder needs
to match the GetASCII polling folder. For steps
on how to configure the GetASCII module, please
watch the Basic GetASCII configuration tutorial
on our website, www.notepage.net
Next is the File Extension. By default, this
is set to .ttm but you can set it to whatever
you please.
The next section is the Modem section. In this
section, we can tell the program what modem to
monitor and how to format the communication parameters.
The ComPort section should match the communications
port of your modem.
Next is the InitString field. If you are using
a US Robotics based modem, use this init string.
If you're using a Conexant based chispet, use
this init string.
Next we have the Connect String. This is the
series of tones that the program will transmit
after picking up the phone line to indicate for
the end user to enter their touch tones.
If you're using a Conexant based modem, use this
init string.
If you're using a US Robotics based modem, use
this init string.
Next we have the Connected String 1. If you're
using a US Robotics based modem, enter this string
here.
Lastly, we have the Connected String 2. If you're
using a US Robotics based modem, enter this string
here.
After entering in your settings, go to File -
Save, then File - Exit.
The final step is to run the Pagegate GetTouchTone
Module.
So, go to Start - Run.
Enter the full path to the PGTTReceiver.exe file.
By default, this path is c:\program files\pagegate\pgttreceiver.exe
This conclude the tutorial on how to configure
the PageGate GetTouchTone Module. For more tutorials,
