SNPP — Simple Network Paging Protocol

SNPP is a standard message delivery protocol used for sending a text message via the Internet to a wireless or telecom provider.

SNPP was specifically designed for text messaging through the Internet and the protocol is very reliable. Only some telecom providers support SNPP — the first step to sending a message using SNPP is to determine if the telecom provider that you are sending to supports SNPP.

In order to send a text message to carriers who support SNPP, two pieces of information are required. The first required piece of information is the SNPP gateway/format of the telecom provider that the wireless devices is associated with. The second required piece of information is mobile phone number you wish to send the message to.
