To run PageGate for the first time, you'll need to choose your database style, configure PageGate's input interfaces, configure delivery methods, then configure recipients and groups.
Logically speaking, PageGate breaks down in to two halves: input and output. So, you'll need to tell the program how you'll be passing messages in and then how to deliver those messages and who they're going to.
Step 1: Choose your database style PageGate currently supports two different database styles: SQL and MSJet. PageGate's default installation uses the MSJet database format but you can quite easily configure the program to use SQL instead.

Step 2: Configure PageGate to run as a System Service PageGate can be configured to run in three different styles: Application, Windows Service and PG Service. We strongly recommend using the Windows Service or PG Service run styles.

Step 3: Configure PageGate's input interface(s) After getting the program installed and the basic database created, you'll need to tell PageGate how you're going to be passing messages into the system.
For more information on that, have a look at the "How PageGate Accepts Messages" or the "Interfaces" section of the documentation. Step 4: Configure your delivery methods Once you have the input interfaces configured, you're ready to start passing messages in to the program for delivery. So, the next step is to tell the program how you're going to be delivering messages.
Message delivery is largely controlled by the type of messages you want to send. Are you sending to cell phones? Email addresses? Making API calls in to a ticket tracking or chat system?
For more detailed information, have a look at the "How PageGate Sends Messages" or "Carriers" section of the documentation.
Step 5: Configure your recipients and groups Now that PageGate knows how messages are going to come in and how to deliver them, you'll need to configure recipients and groups to tell it who the messages are going to.
For more detailed information, have a look at the "Recipients" and "Groups" section of the documentation. |
