Integration with Lawsoft CAD

Integrating Lawsoft CAD with PageGate

Send Text and SMS Messages from Lawsoft CAD

Follow these steps to use Lawsoft CAD with PageGate.

PageGate can be easily integrated with Lawsoft CAD by using PageGate's GetASCII API to monitor for text file output from the CAD system when a dispatch needs to be sent.

To configure GetASCII to integrate with Lawsoft CAD, here's what you'll want to do:

1) Create a directory for the API's basic processes. We recommend creating c:\PageGateData\Ascii\ but you can create whatever directory you wish.

2) Open the PageGate Admin.

3) Go to Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings.

4) Set the Polling Directory to the folder you created in step 1. c:\PageGateData\Ascii\, by default.

5)
Check Enabled.

6) Click Apply.

6a) If prompted, say that you do want this to be enabled for all existing recipients and groups.

7) Go to Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings - Advanced Polling - Files.

8) Click Add.

9) Specify the following:
Recipient: *
From: CAD
File(s): *.txt
Path: Set this to the UNC path for the Lawsoft CAD Data. By default, \\lawsoft\NotePage
File Type: Custom

10) Click Apply.

11) Click Apply again.

12) Go to Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings - Advanced Polling - Record.

13) Specify the following:
Start Pattern: *
Start Offset: 0

End Pattern: ~
End Offset: 0

14) Click Apply.

15) Go to Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings - Advanced Polling - Recipient

16) Specify the following:
Start Pattern: CFS:
Start Offset: 4

End Pattern: \013
End Offset: 0

17) Click Apply.

18) Go to Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings - Advanced Polling - Sender.

19) Select 'Static Sender' and specify the following: CAD

20) Click Apply.

21) Go to Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings - Advanced Polling - Message.

22) Specify the following:
Start Pattern: *
Start Offset: 0

End Pattern: ~
End Offset: 0

23) Click Apply.

This configures PageGate to key off of the CFS field to know who to send the message to. Since the CFS codes and the names in PageGate won't exactly match, we'll need to tell PageGate what CFS code corresponds with which dispatching group.

To add new groups and translate the name from CAD to PageGate:

1) In PG Admin, right click groups, left click Add.

2) Give the group a name.

3) Click Apply.

4) Go to the Lawsoft CAD interface and find the CFS code that corresponds to the group you just created. Make a note of their name, exact spelling is important.

5) Back in the PageGate Admin, go to Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings - Advanced Polling - Recipient.

6) Click Edit Table.

7) Click Add.

8) Specify the following:

Data In: *The CFS Code as it appears in Lawsoft CAD*
Data Out: The group name as it appears in PG Admin.

Example:

Data In: *Fire Department - City*
Data Out: fire_department_city

Data In: *Rescue Squad - City*
Data Out: rescue_squad_city

9) Click Apply.

10) Click Apply.

and finally, to add members to a group:

1) Go to Groups - YourGroup - Members.

2) Click on the name of the recipients and groups to move them to the 'Members' column.

3) Click Apply.
