The thing is, if it worked before you unplugged the modem, there's no reason it shouldn't work after you plugged it back in unless something changed in Windows. We don't know if it's with the COM port, the driver, or something else but something that isn't PageGate changed.

This may sound a little radical but you could try using the System Restore or GoBack to restore the system to the day before the modem stopped responding?

Hiya,

I have just managed to send a message through the Phone modem from Hyperterminal using the following commands

ATZ<CR>
AT+CMGF=1<CR>
AT+CSCS="GSM"<CR>
AT+CMGS="0876407133"<CR><test><CTRL+Z>

Then I start the Pagegate services and it is giving the Database error: 3219 invalid operation

HyperTerminal does not access the COM port the same way that Windows applications do

Have you tried using VBTerm?

Just out of curiosity - what was the issue?

I re-installed the Connectivity cable drivers and also one of my colleagues had installed other modem software on the box as well while I was out of the office on holidays and I did not know about that. So I removed that as well and then after it started to work.

Thanks again for all your help.
