Are you running as an APPLICATION or as a SERVICE?_________________ Aaron D. Osgood

Rodney,
That's a bit odd, though I don't necessarily know that it has directly to do with PageGate. PageGate just references whatever DNS or SMTP server you tell it to use. If those servers become unavailable, it could be that the network controller on the system is losing the connection or DNS needs to be refreshed? That's where I'd look first. |

The Pagegate is running as a service.
How can I check where is the DNS configuration in the Pagegate?
I will try to create a script on the DC whenever it gets reboot, it will send a command to refresh the DNS on the pagegate server.
Thanks for your help!

Go in to the PageGate Admin and go to the Connectors - Global - SMTP section. PageGate only references those for SMTP delivery, though, which is different than what you're talking about. Any time PageGate goes to send a message, it just references whatever the network adapter has configured. |

Is it possible if I use IP instead of DNS name for the SMTP server setting? That will by pass the DNS issue.
Thanks

Well, Pagegate doesn't reference DNS names at all. It always references the DNS IP's. |

You are correct. It is set to IP for the DNS server.
I dig into the last night's log. I find this in the PGDAIL1 log.
"10/20/2011 10:28:06 PM Program Halted. Database error: 3146 ODBC--call failed. in Procedure: repeat_timer
10/20/2011 10:28:06 PM Module Stopped"
It was around the time I reboot the DC servers.
Any idea?
Thanks for all your help.

Just out of curiosity, what do you have set for the Pagegate database folder? To check, go in to the PageGate Admin and go to the Program - Settings section. |
