SMS and Text Messaging Software Background

Use PageGate with FirstNet

Use FirstNet with PageGate

Send Text and SMS Messages through FirstNet

FirstNet supports two protocols: SNPP and SMTP

Of the two, SNPP is far more reliable and efficient and we recommend configuring that.

PageGate can easily be configured to send messages through the FirstNet system hosted by AT&T.

Before you configure FirstNet in PageGate, you'll first need to contact FirstNet to have them whitelist the phone numbers you need to message. Unlike other enterprise messaging hosts, FirstNet DOES NOT whitelist the sender to send to all phone numbers and requires the sender to provide a list of phone numbers they need to message through the FirstNet system.

If a phone number is not registered with FirstNet, the host will reject it as invalid.

Once you have your FirstNet registration complete, here's what you'll need to do in PageGate:

1) Open PG Admin.

2) Right click Carriers, select Add.

3) Specify the following:
Name: FirstNet
Protocol: SNPP
Host: snpp.att.net
Port: 444
Max Chars: 160

4) Click Apply.

Once the FirstNet carrier has been added, you can create recipients tied to that carrier and you'll want to provide the 10 digit cell phone number with no spaces or dashes in the ID/PIN field.
