WebGate supports messages of up to 2000 characters in length. Not all carriers will support messages of this length. If a recipient's character limit is set larger than the carrier's character limit, the message will be automatically broken into smaller messages and numbered (i.e. 1of3, 2of3, 3of3), and then sent sequentially. The numbering of messages is important because, although WebGate sends the messages in the correct order to the paging carrier, the messages may not be received by the pager in the same order (this is possible due to the way the paging systems operate).
