Viavi Observer Analyzer Integration

Steps to Use Viavi Observer Analyzer with PageGate

Send Text and SMS Messages from Viavi Observer Analyzer
Viavi Solutions' Observer Analyzer can be easily integrated with PageGate's GetAscii module.

To start, you'll want to install PageGate on the Observer Analyzer system. You'll also need to create a directory for the integration to reference. It can be any folder on any drive the PageGate server has access to. We recommend creating the following directory:
c:\PageGateData\Ascii\

1) Open the PageGate Admin.

2) Go to Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings.

3) Set the "Polling Directory" to the integration folder you created.

4) Check Enabled.

5) Click on Apply.
5a) When prompted, you do want to enable this for all existing groups and recipie

When configuring an alarm in Observer Analyzer, enable the 'Execute a program' alarm action (see link).

The location of the executable is going to be the directory you created in step 1 above. By default, c:\PageGateData\Ascii\

The executable itself is called sendpage32.exe

The command arguments need to be formatted as follows:<recipient or group><sender><message>

For example, let's say you have a group in PageGate called 'itdept' and we wanted the alert to come from the sender Analyzer and the message should say 'This is a test', you would use the following command arguments:
c:\PageGateData\Ascii\sendpage32.exe itdept Analyzer This is a test
