Paessler PRTG Integration

Steps to Use Paessler PRTG with PageGate

Send Text and SMS Messages from Paessler PRTG
PageGate can be easily integrated with Paessler's PRTG by using the GetAscii module.

You can configure an "Execute Program" notification type in PRTG to pass alerts to PageGate for delivery.

Note: You will need to create a directory for the integration to reference. If PageGate is installed on the PRTG server, we recommend creating c:\PageGateData\Ascii\. If PageGate is not installed on the PRTG server, be sure to share the integration directory on the network so the PageGate and PRTG systems both have administrative access/control.

1) Open the PageGate Admin.

2) Go to Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings.

3) Set the "Polling Directory" to the integration directory you've created (see above).
Note: If you set the Polling Directory to a shared network (UNC) path, be sure to provide the PageGate GetAscii windows service with the appropriate logon credentials to access the network data.

4) Check Enabled.

5) Click on Apply.
5a) When prompted, you do want this enabled for all existing groups and recipients.

When configuring your "Execute remote program" action, this is how to call on PageGate's GetAscii module:
<Integration Directory>\sendpage32.exe<recipient or group><sender><message>

For example:
c:\PageGateData\Ascii\sendpage32.exe ITDept PRTG Server

<PRTG server hostname variable>is at<PRTG disk space variable>disk usage.

That would send a message to the group named ITDept from the sender NetworkMonitor and the message would say "Server SMB0134 is at 95% disk usage".
