HillRom's Navicare Integration

Steps to Use Navicare with PageGate

Send Text and SMS Messages from Navicare
PageGate can be easily integrated with Hill-Rom's Navicare by using the GetAscii module.

Navicare can be configured to output data to a directory of your specification, which means you will need to create a directory for the integration to reference. If PageGate is installed on the NaviCare server, we recommend creating c:\PageGateData\Ascii\. If PageGate is not installed on the NaviCare server, be sure to share the integration directory on the network so the PageGate and Navicare systems both have administrative access/control.

1) Open the PageGate Admin.

2) Go to Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings.

3) Set the "Polling Directory" to the integration directory you've created (see above).
Note: If you set the Polling Directory to a shared network (UNC) path, be sure to provide the PageGate GetAscii windows service with the appropriate logon credentials to access the network data.

4) Check Enabled.

5) Click on Apply.
5a) When prompted, you do want this enabled for all existing groups and recipients.

Note: If you need to manually configure the commands to send to PageGate, they should be formatted as follows:

\sendpage32.exe

For example:
c:\PageGateData\Ascii\sendpage32.exe supervisors NaviCare Unit 3 needs attention

That would send a message to the group named supervisors from the sender NaviCare and the message would say "Unit 3 needs attention".
