What is a Pager?
A pager (also known as a beeper or radio pager) is a wireless telecom device that is able to receive and display numbers and/or alphanumeric characters. Pagers receive the messages that are broadcast over a specific radio frequency. Each pager has a specific "cap code" or numeric code assigned to it. When the specified radio frequency broadcasts a message and references the device's specific cap code the pager will receive the message. The pager then either vibrates or emits an audible sound to signal the individual of a new message.
