Send Alerts from Jira Using PageGate

PageGate integrates with Jira by configuring a Listener in Jira that performs a POST command to PageGate's GetWeb interface.

Step 1 — Prepare PageGate's GetWeb Module and Ad-Hoc Recipient

  1. Follow the web interface video tutorial ↗ to configure GetWeb. See also: how PageGate sends SMS ↗
  2. Open PageGate Admin. Right click Recipients, select Add.
  3. Create an ad-hoc recipient:
    Full Name: adhoc
    Recipient: adhoc
    Type: Ad-Hoc
    Carrier: [Your SMS carrier]
    Max Chars: [Desired length]
  4. Click Apply.

Step 2 — Configure Jira to Call PageGate

In Jira, configure a Listener to POST to this URL format:

http://yourPGserver/pgscripts/webgate.exe?USER=adhoc&SUBJECT=CellNumber&FRM=SenderValue&MSG=Example+message
USER — static reference to the adhoc recipient
SUBJECT — 10-digit cell phone number (no spaces or dashes)
FRM — sender value for the message
MSG — the message text
