|
|
Running Page Gate V5. Prior to Saturday 11/15, my customer on Alltel was recieving pages reliably. No problems at all. The last page/email he received was at 1539 on 11/15. Absolutely no configurations were changed what so ever! I am using the get serial interface and smtp out to the various carriers. Using Outlook, I can send him email/txt messages which he successfully receives. Also, txt messages sent from other devices outside of page gate and outlook are successfully recieved. Anyone got any ideas? I suspect alltel however, just like always, it's not their problem. Any ideas will be welcomed...

Stop Pagegate - Set the logging level to DEBUG - restart Pagegate - send a couple messages to the device - post the log results_________________ Aaron D. Osgood

Also, do you have your Alltel carrier configured to use SMTP or SNPP?

After speaking with Alltel, SMTP no longer works. Meaning that FROM PAGEGATE or similar programs, you will not be able to send messages to SMTP Alltel any longer. You must use SNPP. Which brings me to my next question. My license is only good for 1 connector which I am using for SMTP to my other carriers. Do I need to get another connector license to use SNPP and if not how would I go about setting this up?

What did you do with Alltel to correct the issue?

I changed the "carrier" setting from smtp to snpp and changed the host to snpp.alltel.net. The "ID/PIN" for the receipients who use Alltel was changed to reflect only their 10 digit phone number, nothing else. Easy as that.
