I receive the following error when trying to send a SMS
Program Halted. Database error: 3144 Syntax error in UPDATE statement in Procedure: SendGSM

I had this working before but we stopped using it for a few weeks. We had removed the SIM from the phone. Now I have put another SIM in to the phone I get the above error.

Pagegate detects the modem attaced to COM3 which is correct.
I have rebuilt the Pagegate database but still ge the error.

You help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Can you send and receive messages over that device using Hyperterminal? I suspect that since you swapped SIM cards, it may not be properly registered on the cellular network

It is a Nokia 6230. It is the same phone I was using when it was working. The server recognises the Modem on COM3. I have setup COM3 in the Connector 1.

Is it connected via USB, RS-232, or Ethernet? My suspicion is that you are using a USB cable and your problem lies in the way that Windows talks to the COM port.

CLOSE PageGate
Open HYPERTERMINAL
Connect to the comport at 115200 8n1
type AT

You should get OK back

type AT+CMGS="enter 10 digit number here"
You should get OK
Type TEST and then press CTRL-Z
then hit enter

post the result

Then when I type

I get
ERROR back

I'm using a USB cable

you typed: AT+CMGS=0876407133
the number needs to be in quotes and it must be a valid 10digit cellularnumber OTHER than the one assigned to the SIM

I tried that but it still gives me ERROR back

AT+CMGS="0876407133"
I get back
ERROR

The number is a different number to the one assigned to the SIM.

Are you sure that "0876407133" is a valid number? I am not aware of a valid EIN cellular number that starts with a "0"

Either way - it looks more and more like the virtual map from the COM port to the USB hub may be corrupt (often caused by pullung the USB out before STOPPING the device through windows)

In Ireland all cellular numbers begin with a "0"

When I was changing the SIM I turned off the cellular phone.

Thanks for your continued help.

Ok - I didn't realize you were in Ireland (-;

Before you turned the phone off - did you "STOP" the USB controller through Windows?

No I did not stop the USB controller through Windows. I just turned the phone off.

This morning I stopped the USB controller through windows and disconnected the cable and then connected the cable to another USB port. It then came up on COM port 4. I then change the serial port on the Connector to 4 but I'm still getting the Database Syntax error 3144

I suspect that the USB COMPort drivers are hosed and Windows will not allow PageGate to access the port. Have you used the NokiaSUITE to reinstall the modem?

I have reinstalled the Modem using the Nokia Suite and I have reinstalled the Connectivity cable drivers for the cable connecting the Nokia 6230 to the USB port on the server but I'm still getting the same error Database error 3144 Syntax
