I can not find an init-string for a USR USR5637 USB modem.

| I am trying to connect 1200. It works fine with Zoom Modem 0375.

| Try resetting the baud rate to 1200 and then reset the init string to Auto and let's see what happens. |

That's... not what the connector log is saying:
10/27/2008 4:09:04 PM Setting communication parameters (19200,e,7,1)
That line says that your carrier settings are set to 19200 baud. |

Oh, I tried setting it to 19200, as was suggested somewhere.
I tried auto-init-connector, auto-init-carrier, 1200 baud-carrier.
Then I tried that init shown in connector and carrier with 1200 in carrier.
Then I tried that init shown in connector and carrier with 19200 in carrier.

See if you get any different results if you do this:
1. Remove the init string from the connector (blank it out)
2. Change the carrier baud rate to 9600
3. At the end of the init string for the carrier try changing the &N2 to an &N6 |

With my old modem (a cheapie USB ZOOM), Verizon and USAMobility worked fine at 1200baud using one of the strings in the drop down.
Where can I find reference to what all those variables in the init string are for? If I knew what each part of the string did, I could try different settings in them.

NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE:
SUCCESSFUL: "Received:<CR><LF>CONNECT 1200<CR><LF>"
FAILED: "Received:<CR><LF>CONNECT 1200/NONE<CR><LF>"
**See the difference... "/NONE". I think that might be a problem?
After the successful modem sends "PG1", it receives an answer. After the failed modem sends "PG1", it receives nothing (or goofy stuff on some tests).
Does this help with a solution?

Set the baud rate to 1200 and give this one a try for the carrier init string.
