How can I send SMS to mobile?

I just download NotePager Pro.
I can send E-mail via SMTP.
But What I want to do is send SMS to mobile.
What kind of option I have? if I do not have a modem.

Or If I need to send SMS to mobile, does require modem?
Or I can send SMS via SNPP?
That is the case, is there Free SNPP provider or Do I have to sign the contract with the provider?

I have no idea about SMS solution.
Please let me know how this is working.

P.S. I want integrate with Kiwi Syslog later.

Well.. it varies from carrier to carrier as to what protocols they support. For example Nextel, Alltel, and Sprint support SNPP and SMTP while Verizon, AT&T, and Cingular only support SMTP.

Actually I just try to use Sprint SNPP.
Then, I can send SMS to my Sprint Cell phone.
But I can not send to another carrier's Cell Phone.

How can I send SMS via same SNPP Server?

You can't. Sprint's host won't accept messages for anyone other than Sprint. The same goes for every other carrier. Verizon won't accept messages for any cel phones other than Verizon, Cingular won't accept for anyone other than Cingular, etc.

So, What is the best way to page any cell phone?
What I want to do is,
If Syslog Tool got specific word for example "Error Code ***"
Then I want to page all IT member's mobile.

Also, I saw kiwi syslog setting page, it looks like I can send SMS only one recipient.
Does kiwi syslog is able to send SMS to multiple recipients by NotePage Pro?

Well, there are two ways to do it, really.

You can configure each carrier in the program and tie each recipient's phone number to a carrier. For example: Bob uses Nextel. So, we configure Nextel as a carrier in the program and when we add Bob into the program, we tie Bob's recipient to the Nextel carrier.

OR

You can buy a Cellular Modem and use the GSM-AT protocol. A Cellular modem, effectively, turns your computer into an SMS broadcaster... which has the benefit that it can send to pretty much any phone number and it doesn't matter who the carrier is.

Now, and this is just my recommendation, if you're going to be using NotePager Pro (our single PC, standalone version), I'd recommend just configuring the carriers.

If you're interested in our server based platform, PageGate, I'd recommend going the GSM-AT route.

Actually, the other cell phone is T-mobile.
I could not find T-Mobile SNPP server.
I tried Cingular and AT&T, but it does not work.
Which server should I use for T-mobile?

I will look at A Cellular modem as well.

Sean,

Not every carrier supports the SNPP protocol. In fact, most don't, at least not for free anyways.

Cingular and AT&T's SNPP host is only for their Enterprise Paging clients, it wont' work with anyone else.

T-Mobile doesn't support SNPP at all, they only support SMTP.

Of the major carriers, Nextel, Alltel, and Sprint are the only three that support SNPP for free.
