We are running Pagegate v 5.0 on a Win2k3 Ent. server. We get this error at 12:08 am +/- every day. We can send mail using the mailserver but I want to know why we are getting this error and correct the issue. We run Solarwinds Orion on this server and we send mail alerts to the pagegate mail server.

If you go into the properties of the pgmailserver.exe and pagegate.exe files, what version number is displayed under the Version tab?

pgmailserver.exe = 5.0.8.0
pagegate.exe = 5.0.0.8
Not a typo these are different versions.

Right, they're supposed to show up slightly differently. They're still the same build, the build is just recorded slightly differently between the PG Mail Server. The first thing I'd like to try is updating PageGate to version 5 build 9:
1) Make a backup of the pagegate.mdb file (typically located in c:\pagegatedata\database\). This is the single most important thing you can do before you update.
2) Stop PageGate. Make sure that none of the services or programs are running. Make ABSOLUTELY SURE that nothing in regards to PageGate is running.
3) Browse into the PageGate program directory (typically c:\program files\pagegate)
4) Move or delete ALL of the .exe files from this directory.
5) Download the latest installation file for PageGate from our website: http://www.notepage.net (click on the download option under the PageGate section in the center of the page)
6) Run the pgsetup.exe file you downloaded in step 5.
7) The ONLY option you want to run is the "Install PageGate Server" option.
8) Unless you need to change the installation directory, you can click on Next until the installation finishes.
9) Reboot the system.

pgmailserver.exe = 5.0.9.0
pagegate.exe = 5.0.0.9
These are the versions after the update and reboot.
Should this correct the issue?

Ah, good. That's the correct build number for the latest build of the program and yes, it should take care of it.

The error still exists. This error is 1 second after the PGGMail service is shutdown. Not sure if that means anything at all.
