Is there any way to restrict access to the reports button on the PageGate v 4.0 client?

Isn't it under FILE -> SETTINGS -> REMOVE REPORTS ?
(Sorry - been a while since I used v4 - on the road at the moment and don't have it on my laptop)_________________ Aaron D. Osgood

I have FILE->SETUP->DISPLAY OPTIONS and then can select to remove logs and other things but no settings for reports.

If you enable the Client security, it will prompt for a password before a report can be run but there isn't an option to remove the reports in the version 4 client.

Open the PageGate Admin on the Server itself (don't do this from a workstation) and go to the Program - Security section. Once there, enter a Master and a Client password and that should enable it.

The client password in the admin program only requires the user to login to the client. Is there a way to remove the reports button like the logs button or to require a login to run just the reports from the client??

Unfortunately, not with version 4. It is possible with version 5.

PageGate v4 can be upgraded to v5 for $100.00. Download a free evaluation of PageGate v5 software (2 recipients enabled and restart every 3-5 days), upgrade instructions, and new features are listed at http://www.notepage.net/pagegate-v5.htm. The upgraded v5 Registration Key is needed to fully register PageGate v5 software.

Ok, I have downloaded and installed V. 5.0 and the client. I still don't find anywhere to remove or restrict access to the Reports button on the GUI Client. Can someone give me the details on how to do this?

It's not an option within the GUI Client itself. It has to be done from the PageGate Admin on the server, under the Program Security section. You should see a way to configure security rights for the admin and client users, the reports being an option you can grant access to or not.

I am still not sure if there is anyway to remove access to the Reports button in V.4.0 or V.5.0. The only way I can see to restrict access to the reports is to give each client a unique station number so they are able to view only their stations data.
