To get PGC to operate on a workstation, we have to allow the user full access to that database path. Is there a way to run PGC without having full access to the live database? Can we run a second database for PGC?

We don't want users getting into files and folders and jeopardizing the PG Server files.

Any suggestions?

The PageGate Client needs to be able to read, write, modify, and delete items from the database and it has to be the same database that the server uses, otherwise the server won't be able to see the scheduled messages.

So, just to clarify, there isn't any way to set up PGC without opening up full access to the PG files to every PG user on our network.

If the database is in its own directory, separate from the rest of PageGate, you could give permission just to the database directory. Theoretically, you could also just give access to the database file itself but I'm not quite sure if that would work
