I am running NP Pro on a Win2000 server in conjunction with Solarwinds Orion system for alerting.
The NP icon has disappeared from the task bar although the program is still running. I know this because I cannot start a new NP program. Obviously I need to cancel the running program first but I cannot see it running anywhere.
Assuming that it is a service, does anyone know what the service name is?

Actually, it sounds like the nptray function was stopped on the system. The easiest way I can think of to take care of that would be to bring up the Task Manager in Windows and End Task on NPP or NPPDial (or both) under the applications tab. After you do that, you should be able to re-open the program.

That worked fine, many thanks.
Any idea why it doesn't appear in the system tray?

Generally, if your system tray has items that are set to show up but don't exist anymore, it can cause occasional problems with other programs showing up in the system tray. My recommendation would be to tell NotePager Pro to no longer minimize to the system tray and to minimize to the Task Bar from now on.
