I just purchased the license for notepager pro and i am trying to get these text alerts to work with no success. If someone could help me out, that would be great. I am lost with this stuff.

First question... It says that i can send messages via an internet connection. Do I need any additional software to make it work? I am trying to send messages to Cingular (At&t), verizon, sprint/nextel, and t-mobile.

I'll just start with that for now.

To configure NotePager Pro to send out pages over the internet, you have to know which of the three internet protocols your carrier supports. The three online protocols are: SNPP, WCTP, SMTP.

SMTP is the most widely supported of the three, so here's how to configure an SMTP Carrier in NotePager Pro:

1) Left click on the Carriers menu.

2) Left click on Add.

3) Name the carrier: SMTP

4) Change the Protocol to: SMTP

5) Your Local Domain needs to be set to the latter half of your email address.

6) Enter in your Primary DNS into DNS Server 1 and your Secondary DNS into DNS Server 2. If you're not sure what either of these are, please contact your internet service provider or network admin and ask them.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

1) Now that the Carrier has been added, left click on Recipients.

2) Left click on Add.

3) You can name the recipient whatever you like.

4) The Type should be normal and change the Carrier to SMTP.

5) In the "Email To" field, enter the email address for a phone, pager, or just a regular email address (like support@notepage.com). If you're not sure what your device's email address is, we do keep a current list of email suffixes for the various carriers here: http://www.notepage.net/smtp.htm

6) Make sure that Alpha and Drop non-printable characters are cheked.

7) Click on Apply.

The nomenclature for ATT (fka Cingular) is:

10digit#@txt.att.net
