I am looking at the Note pager system to text message Search and Rescue members on their cell phones. I need to know if this system can handle ALL cell carriers and how fast is it?

There isn't a cel phone carrier in the US, that I'm aware of, that the program can't message. Pagegate and NotePager Pro both support all of the major SMS protocols: WCTP, TAP, TONE, UCP, SMTP, SNPP, and GSM
As for how fast it is, the program itself can deliver messages very quickly, though the protocol you use will determine the precise speed. The fastest and most reliable protocols are SNPP and WCTP, though not all carriers support that protocol. A fast but slightly less reliable protocol is SMTP and every carrier I'm aware of supports SMTP.
TAP is a very reliable protocol but is much slower due to the fact that it relies on a modem to deliver messages.
GSM is both fast and reliable but it does involve certain costs.
Over all, it generally takes between between 4 and 12 seconds to deliver the message to the carrier. Once the message gets to the carrier, it largely depends on how fast the carrier network is as to how long it takes the phone to receive the message.

What system would be the best for our application? Can I download the software on more than one computer?

It really depends on what you're wanting to do and how many computers you want to do it on as to which program would be best for you to use. How many computers would you want to use to send messages?

I think 4 would be the most we would use.

NotePager Pro, stand-alone software, is a graphical windows program for sending messages from a individual computers. PageGate software is a networking program, runs as a Windows System Service and uses a centralized database.
Both NotePage programs will enable a user to quickly send a message out an internet connection via multiple wireless carriers to groups of cell phones, pagers and other wireless devices.
