We have not been able to send messages to Sprint phones since Monday 8/6/2007. It connects but does not send the message.

This has been working for 2 years and just stopped on Monday the 6th. No changes were made to anything. All of the other carriers work fine it is just Sprint.

We are using SMTP as the protocol.

By and large, Sprint has been moving more and more towards not accepting direct DNS connections to its SMTP host. Chances are, your ISP or DNS range is now on a list of ranges that Sprint no longer accepts direct connections from.

The only solution to the problem is to deliver the messages through a relay or an SMTP server.

How would you go about setting up notepager to use an SMTP gateway or a relay?

The first thing you'll want to do is contact your ISP to find out this:

1) What is your SMTP Server?

2) Is it authenticated? If it is authenticated, unfortunately, NotePager Pro doesn't have the capability to pass SMTP authentication.

Once you have that information, open NotePager Pro.

1) Go to Carriers - Edit.

2) Highlight one of your SMTP based carriers and click on Edit.

3) Move the dot next to "deliver through local email server".

4) In the Relay Server field, type in the information you were given in step 1 of the previous set of steps.

5) Click on Apply, then close the Edit Carrier list.
