Hello,

I kindly request for help on the following questions;

1. Does Pagegate support SMPP and if it doesnt, are plans for it to do the same.

2. Can pagegate display messages from mobile devices by displaying them on the PC (if connected to a GSM Modem) &

3. Can pagegate process incoming sms and automatically reply if given keywords are used.

Regards

James

Currently, PageGate supports the SNPP, SMTP, WCTP, TAP, GSM, TONE, and UCP protocols. As far as I'm aware, there aren't any plans to integrate with SMPP.

I'm afraid I don't understand the question. If the PageGate PC is connected to a GSM modem, it can use the GSM modem to send outbound messages to cel phones.

The best I can tell you on this is maybe. It depends on what kind of data the program is receiving and in what format the data is coming in. It also depends on whether the reply is going to be structured around the incoming messages or if it needs to be something completely different.

Than for your reply;

In my 2 question I wanted to know whether received SMS can be removed from a modem and displayed on my PC.

In my third the data is text and yes the msg would be structured around the incoming messages.

I can't outright say no, it can't be done but I can say that PageGate doesn't have the capability to translate incoming SMS messages to a GSM modem into viewable messages on the computer. There may be another application designed to monitor the GSM modem for incoming SMS and translate it into messages on the screen.

Since that's the case, there is a very good possibility that you can configure PageGate to translate the text data into replies to the sender. For example, let's say that the text is being written as a text document. PageGate can monitor the directory those text documents are being written to and use the message being written as a guide for an automatic reply to certain people. There are many variables because the module(s) used to read in that data are highly customizable.
