When starting up Note Page 32, I see the startup screen, but then it appears to just lock up. I see the button to continue, but it does not appear to be active, and I can only shut the program down through task manager.
I have tried de-installing and re-installing the program, but the problem remains.

We have not seen that problem before. As a starting point, can you try downloading the evaluation version of NotePager Pro, installing it, and see if you have the same results?

I de-installed your free version, installed the pro evaluation version, worked fine. De-installed the pro version, re-installed the free version, same problem.
I cannot get your free version to work, and really don't want to purchase your pro version right now.
Where do we go from here.

What operating system are you using (include service pack level)?
Can you supply details as to what kind of hardware you are using?

I use Win 98, Ver 2. It is pretty up to date, as I frequently update through Microsoft. It is a 466 Mhz Celeron Processor. I use A Supra Fax voice / fax modem.
What is curious is that I have had the free version installed for quite a while, and it did work, I just have not used it recently, which is why I just noticed the problem
I recently upgraded from Netscape Ver 4.8 to Ver 7.1.
I have installed and de-installed other programs in the last few months, so it is possible that a necessary DLL has been deleted, but I would think any DLL that was neeeded would accompany the install program.
I do not know what else I can tell you right now, but I will try to stay current with your replies.
Thanks
Brian

One thing to try while I research this:
After doing a full uninstall of NotePager 32, check to see if the NotePager32 folder still exists under Program Files. If it does, try renaming or deleting the folder. You can also check your registry to see if the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\NotePage\NotePager32 key exists. If it does, delete it.
Then try reinstalling again and see if you get different results.

Allow me 7-10 days before making any changes to my computer, as I am waiting for Norton System Works 2004 to be delivered to me, and would like to install it to see what problems it detects.
Generally speaking, I always delete all folders and files left over after deleting any program.
Editing the registry I tend to avoid, unless I have a program that I absolutely have to run, and see no other option.
Thanks for your help.

Hello NotePage
I am still unable to get NotePage32 to open.
Any problems NortonSystem Works detected have been corrected, and I do not believe any problems were detected pertaining to prior installations of NotePage32.
I have tried deleting all registry entries, I have tried to install in a different directory.
The one thing I have noticed is that when NotePage32 opens, the startup spalsh screen seems to flash momentarily, and then it just locks up.
I still think a DLL is missing that NotePage32 needs, but does not install.
Sincerely
Brian

There are a couple things I would like you to try. Can you email support@notepage.com so I can send you a file or two?
I will post the outcome of what we find back here for the benefit of others.
Thanks.

Hi Brian,
I don't see any record of the email (from a Brian) why don't you give me a call 781-829-0500 or try emailing to addresses on different domains to ensure receipt. Try these: support@notepage.net and chris@notepage.com directly.
Thank you

I am having the same problem as Brian. I down loaded and installed Notepage32
on an older Dell computer and it worked fine. I went home and down loaded to
a brand new E-machine Windows XP Home Edition and it would flash and
lock up when I tried to install it.
Thanks for any help.

I am also having the same problem. When NotePage32 v3 starts up, it just freezes. It doesn't look like the initial screen ever completes as there is a dark border around the bottom and right side of it. There is no response when I click on the links on the bottom of the page.
Pervious versions of NotePage32 worked OK. NotePager Pro v3 also works fine.
I'm using a Dell Lattitude notebook with a P4 1.8 GHz processor and 256MB of RAM. The screen resolution is set to 1400X1050. I'm running Win2k SP4 with all the latest updates from Microsoft.

Sorry for the amount of time this has taken us to resolve. We have still not been able to reproduce this problem in-house, but have been working with a very helpful customer that does have the problem.
The NotePager 32 startup problem has now been resolved. A new version has been uploaded to our websites. If the NotePager 32 splash screen is 'freezing up' when you start the program on your computer, please download the new version and install it over your existing version.
If anyone continues to experience this problem after installing the new version, please post back to this thread. It would also be nice to hear that this has fixed the problem for those who have posted here.
Thanks.

I'm still having the problem but it does act a little differently. Here's what I did:
Uninstalled the version of NotePager32 I had installed on 1/12. I deleted the installation directory under c:\program files, deleted the registry key and restarted the computer. I then installed the version of NotePager32 I downloaded on 1/13 at approx. 1:30PM EST. The installation went OK.
When I start the program up the first time, the splash screen freezes. When I launch the Task Manager to kill the program the first time, it brings up the configuration wizard so I cancel the program termination and continue with the wizard. When the wizard is finished and I click the Done button, Notepager32 ends. Then when I try to start it again, the splash screen freezes and I can't get in to it. Clicking on End Task in the Task Manager kills NotePager32 but it does not bring up the wizard again.
If I cancel out of the wizard the first time, NotePager32 ends. Each time I try to start it thereafter, the wizard starts again. If I cancel the wizard, it will start up again the next time. If I complete the wizard, the splash screen freezes on the next startup.
This is repeatable because I tried it several times.
