We've been getting "unrecognized mail format" messages when someone uses Yahoo Mail to send into our PageGate system.
Now, just starting today (9-24-05) , we're getting the same message when someone send into our system using their ameritech.net email account.
I do know that the Ameritech email goes through Yahoo's mail servers, so that may be where that's coming from.
Has anyone else had this problem? Will this be addressed in an update to PageGate?_________________ Mike Linthicum

The best thing for us to do is to get a copy of one of the messages before it is processed by GetMail. Typically GetMail is too quick to grab a copy of the raw mail file before it is processed. The easiest approach is to stop PageGate, set the polling interval for the GetMail interface to 60 (1 minute) then restart PageGate.
Send a message from Yahoo or ameritech.net. Then watch the MailIn folder for the message. When it shows up, make a copy before GetMail grabs the file (should be named *.msg). You may have to try a couple times if you have bad luck and the file comes in right before the 1 minute processing interval happens.
Then send us the file as an attachment to an email (send it to support@notepage.com ) and I will take a look. GetMail obviously doesn't like something about the email's format.
Also remember to change the processing interval for GetMail back to 5 seconds or whatever you had it previously set to.

OK I'm going to work on this tonight, and I'll get it to you in the next day or so. Meantime, I'm sending you one of the badmsg files from an inbound yahoomail message._________________ Mike Linthicum

Genreally, the best way to get it to work again is to clear your GetMail's polling directory. One of the messages is gumming up the works and causing the module to hang. What I would recommend is to send the 'hung' messages to support@notepage.com and detail what the problem is. That way we can look at the 'hung' messages, figure out why GetMail doesn't like them, and try to find a solution.
