Change in messages table (pagegate.mdb)

Will changing the design of the messages table (e.g. adding another field) interfere with the overall operation of the program?

We use PageGate as part of a patient transportation dispatch and physician call center program. I want to be able to place the custom message number generated by that program into the messages table.
