I've been reading about NP 32 & NP Pro with regards installing one of them but i am from the UK and have a cable broadband connection, this means i would have to go for NP Pro but the only format that covers UK mobile companies is the SMPT format and even this is limited to Vodafone/Orange and T-Mobile plus it states that this is the most basic format to use and sugests using SNPP or WCTP which do not suport UK mobile companies....any sugestions?...is there any chance of any UK companies being added to the list of carriers for the SNPP and WCTP formats?

NotePager Pro supports sending text messages via Internet protocols: SNPP, WCTP, SMTP or modem protocols: TAP, UCP, GSM, TONE. NotePager 32 only supports sending messages via a dial-up modem to a single recipient.
The SMTP should be okay to use. The main difference is SMTP is not time sensitive. The UK mobile companies also determine which protocols they support and what their protocol formats are. Please contact the carrier or check their website for their protocol settings if not available at http://www.notepage.net/support.htm
To set up NotePager Pro in the menu bar select: 'Tools' - 'Wizards' - 'Setup'. In the Wizard continue with Connection, Carrier, and Recipient.

Right i've downloaded and installed NP Pro, it is set up for the SMTP format and i have sent out some test messages to my mobile phone, i know SMTP is not as quick as the other formats but could you give me some idea how long messages usually take to be delivered...a rough idea would be good...it's now been 25 mins since i sent first message...not delivered yet.

Still no joy...the text messages i sent never arrived, did all that was sugested to me including contacting Vodafone to ask why their sever was accepting messages but not delivering them...they say they do not suport this...but they are on the list of cariers that do suport this....any explanation?
Basically my messages are being sent but not delivered and no body seems to know why.

Can you send an e-mail from your regular e-mail client to your mobile phone using "phonenumber@vodafone.net" or "username@vodafone.net"?

I'd never tried this so i just had a go, i've sent an email from my regular email account to phonenumber@vodafone.net...it scanned and sent it out no trouble...should it arrive on my mobile as a text message?..if so it hasn't been delivered as yet.

Did the notification state why the original message was undeliverable?
Also, you should contact Vodafone to verify that you have the service that allows you to receive messages via SMTP (e-mail).

The notification said - The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to.
And yes i can recieve message via SMTP, i have tried out other text messaging software that has worked fine, messages are always delivered with in seconds.
