|
|
I have been tasked with completing a proof of concept for using PageGate as our automated paging software. I am trying to set up an SMS process as follows:
Interface - GetAscii - verified that it is working
Carrier - initially AT&T
Settings: Protocol - SNPP
Host - snpp.att.net
Port - 444
MaxChars 300
Connector1
Setings: Init String (auto)
Dialing Prefix <blank>
Dedicated Carrier (none)
Serial Port 1
Direct Connect <blank>
When I place the message file in the polling directory it is picked up as expected, however in the Connector Log I keep getting the following:
******************************
Start connection to carrier ATT
Connect using SNPP protocol
Unable to connect to carrier
Disconneted from server
***************************
Could someone please let me know if I have things configured correctly and/or how I can go about troubleshooting this?
thx very much,

It could be that port 444 is not open for outbound connections.
Here is a way you can test that.
At a command prompt (DOS prompt) type:
telnet snpptest.notepage.com 444
You should get this back:
220 Gateway Ready |

we can get the 220 gateway ready via telnet but when we try to send an ascii text file we are still getting
Unable to connect to Carrier
our firewall folks have assured me the port is enabled for SNPP
any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you would, please email the c:\PageGateData\Logs\*.log files from the server to support at notepage dot com so we can have a look at everything in context. |

we can now access the Sprint SNPP and SMTP sites but the messages are getting rejected. I will be sending all of our logs to the support@notepage site. Any help would be appreciated.

Sprint will not accept SNPP traffic until you pre-register with them as an authorized sender_________________ Aaron D. Osgood
