In PageGate 6, where do I put the SMTP user/pass?
I see where to put the smtp server in the relay field, but where do I put the username and password for the SMTP server?

The Username and Password for SMTP authentication need to be entered in the Advanced sub-section of the SMTP based carrier. So, for example, you would do this:
1) Open the PG Admin.
2) Go to Carriers - <SMTPCarrier> - Advanced.
3) In the Auth|Pass field, you'll enter the username and password separated by a pipe. For example: username@yourdomain.com|password |

That won't work, I'm trying to use SMTP as the Failover. So, the auth|pass already has a value for the carrier's primary SNPP connection.
It fails over fine to SMTP if it can't connect to SNPP... but it doesn't use the value from the auth|pass for SMTP and even if it did use that value, it would be incorrect.
So, knowing this, where do i enter the smtp credentials?
Thank you.

If you're using SMTP as a failover, that means you have an SNPP carrier and an SMTP carrier. The SMTP credentials shouldn't go in to the Advanced sub-section of the SMTP carrier, not the SNPP carrier. The SMTP credentials MUST go in to the Advanced sub-section of the SMTP carrier. They cannot go anywhere else. |

AH! Perfect, thank you. I had been looking in the SMTP settings under interface, where the mail server is set.
