Okay, the first step is to configure the carriers. What carriers will we need to configure in the program?

To configure PageGate to use a Cellular modem:
1) Open the PG Admin.
2) Go to the Connectors - Connector 1 - Settings.
3) Set the Serial Port field to match the COM port of the modem.
4) Make sure Direct Connect is NOT checked and click on Apply.
5) Right click on the Carriers section, left click on Add.
6) Name the Carrier: Universal
7) Set the protocol to: GSM-AT
8) Set the baud rate to: 9600, data bits to: 8, stop bits to: 1 and Parity to: none
10) In the Init String field, type in: AT+CSQ
11) Click on Apply.
Now that you have the connector and carrier configured, any time you add a recipient that uses the Cellular Modem carrier, just set the ID/PIN field to the 10 digit cel phone number (no spaces or dashes).
After you add your recipients, here's how to add a Group:
1) Right click on the Carriers section, left click on Add.
2) Name the Group whatever you like and click on Apply.
3) Click on the Members sub-section of your new group.
4) Move whoever is relevant in to the members section and click on Apply.

Ok, I found the members section but it was not under carriers it was under groups. If that is right I have all this done. Now I just need to get PageGate to find that text file.

If you go in to the Connectors - Connector 1 - Settings section, does the Serial Port field match the COM port of the modem?

If you would, please email the c:\pagegatedata\logs\*.log files to support at notepage dot com, I have a feeling I know what the issue is but I want to have a look at the logs to be sure.

Now that we have that configured, we need to configure the GetAscii module. Here's what you'll want to do:
1) In Windows, create a new directory called: c:\pagegatedata\ascii\
2) Open the PG Admin.
3) Go to Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings.
4) Set the Polling Directory to c:\pagegatedata\ascii\
5) Put a check in Enabled and click on Apply.
6) When prompted, say yes, that you do want this to be enabled for all existing groups and recipients.
7) Go to Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings - Advanced Polling - Files.
8) Click on Add.
9) Leave the Recipient and Sender fields as they are.
10) Set the File(s) field to match the output type of What's Up Gold. For example, if they output .txt files, you'll use *.txt or if they use .wba files, you'll use *.wba
12) Set the Path to the file path where those files are being output.
13) Set the File Type to Custom.
14) Click on Apply.
15) Go to Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings - Advanced Polling - Record.
16) Set and Apply the following:
Start Pattern: *
Start Offset: 0
End Patter: ~
End Offset: 0
17) Go to Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings - Advanced Polling - Recipient
18) Set it to Static Recipient and specify the group that should receive the What's Up Gold messages, then click on Apply.
19) Go to Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings - Advanced Polling - Sender.
20) Set it to Static Sender and enter the name you want to show up as who sent the message when an alert is triggered, then click on Apply.
21) Go to Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings - Advanced Polling - Message.
22) Set and Apply the following:
Start Pattern: *
Start Offset: 0
End Patter: ~
End Offset: 0
23) Go to the Program - Settings section.
24) Under "Run on this server" make sure that GetAscii is checked.

Ok. I have alerts in the file but PageGate is not picking them up and sending them.

Two things:
1) Please email me a copy of one of the files that was output so I can verify that we do have everything configured properly.
2) Run the PageGate Monitor. When you do, is GetAscii red or green?
