Hi,
I'm using PageGate 5.0.0.95 on a Win2008 64bit system. We've configured it to send emails to our email server (both PG and the email server are on the same server) fairly regularly and everything appears to be working for the most part. We have two connectors set up and currently only two users.
Every so often, I see the following messages in the connector log for one of the connectors and I see that the page did not go out but instead went out using the other connector:
2/22/2012 5:40:36 PM Unable to synchronzie time with scheduler. Using local time.
2/22/2012 5:40:36 PM Module stop requested
2/22/2012 5:40:37 Module Stopped
2/24/2012 2:01:29 PM Module Started
2/24/2012 2:01:41 PM Time synchronized with scheduler
I also see the same message about the time around midnight:
2/21/2012 10:38:59 PM Log ping...
2/21/2012 11:38:59 PM Log ping...
2/22/2012 12:00:02 AM Unable to synchronize time with scheduler. Using local time.
2/22/2012 12:00:12 AM Unable to synchronize time with scheduler. Using local time.
2/22/2012 12:00:15 AM Running cleanup routine
2/22/2012 12:00:16 AM Module Stopped
2/22/2012 12:00:27 AM Module Started
2/22/2012 12:00:30 AM Time synchronized with scheduler
2/22/2012 12:16:59 AM Log ping...
2/22/2012 1:16:59 AM Log ping...
2/22/2012 2:16:59 AM Log ping...
2/22/2012 3:16:59 AM Log ping...
2/22/2012 4:16:59 AM Log ping...
Is this normal?? Am I missing some sort of configuration? I saw similar messages in the forum where they've disabled UAC to resolve issues but I don't have that option. I do have to always select the "Run as Administrator" option to run PG Admin even though I followed the vista instructions when installing the program (and it seemed to indicate that you only had to do that the first time - but I could be wrong about that). I'm running PageGate as a service and it's running as the local system.
Thanks!

The midnight instances are perfectly normal. Every day at midnight, the program takes itself offline for a few seconds (maybe up to a minute) to run a cleanup routine on the database before resuming normal functions.
As for the non-midnight instances, those aren't normal. If you would, please email all c:\pagegatedata\logs\pgdialX.log files to support at notepage dot com so we can have a look at the errors in a fuller context. |

Based on the logs, it looks like something is occasionally locking either the c:\pagegatedata\logs\ folder or the c:\pagegatedata\ folder. This could be caused by a periodic virus scan or backup program, something that would periodically run and temporarily lock out PageGate from being able to write to its own logging directory. When this happens, it creates an error that forces PageGate to restart until it can access the directory once more. |

Thanks!
I'll check to see what's running that could lock and then monitor to see if it happens again.
