|
|
The server on which Pagegate 5.0 is running is being retired. Our customer has a large database with a rather complicated setup as they send pages to multiple different types of device.
Is there a guide available that details exactly what needs to be done to move their entire installation from the old server to the new?
The old server runs Windows 2000, the new one runs 2008 R2.

To transfer PageGate from one server to another:
1) On the existing PageGate system, make a backup copy of the c:\pagegatedata\ folder on a flash drive or network location.
2) Go to the new PageGate server.
3) Download the latest installation file for PageGate: http://www.notepage.net/download/pgsetup.exe
4) Run the installation file.
5) Select "Install PageGate server"
6) Review the installation options and click on Next until the installation finishes.
7) BEFORE you run the PageGate admin on the new server, copy the pagegatedata folder to the root of the hard drive on the new server.
8) Run the PageGate admin.
9) Click on Apply when it prompts you for the default setup information.
10) Go to the Program - Settings section.
11) Under the "Run on this server" section, make sure you're only running the parts of PageGate that you're licensed for.
11a) To check which parts of Pagegate you're licensed for, go to the Registration section of the Admin.
12) Under the "Run PageGate As" section, move the dot from Application to Windows Service and click on Apply.
13) When prompted for credentials, leave them blank and click on Apply again.
14) After the program has finished Switching Run Styles, left click on the icon of the pager in the system tray and left click on Start. |
