I've looked through the forums for a few days and haven't been able to locate an answer to my problem so I apologize if this has already been answered.

I work for a 911 center and we just started using PageGate to send dispatch information to fire and EMS responders. Recently, the paging stopped. I found out today that a few days ago we changed our ISP and the email address we were using to send the messages is no longer available to us. I have a new address however after I change the SMTP settings the messages still aren't being sent. Can someone direct me to a help page or offer some kind of advice.

Thanks

Some ISPs block outbound SMTP traffic (block port 25).

A simple test to see if this is the case is to do the folowing:

1. On the PageGate computer, open a command prompt window (DOS window)
2. type: telnet notepage.com 25
3. If you don't get '220 qs1534.pair.com ESMTP posfix' back, then port 25 is blocked.

If it is blocked, then you will need to talk to your ISP about opening it.

That worked out fine. Port 25 is not blocked. I'm afraid that I am missing something in the setup. I think I've found the place for the smtp information. Is there supposed to be a place for the username and password for the new email address?

Are you using a relay server now?
