we have put NotePagerPro on 5 machines, 4 LAN connections and 1 Sprint wireless connection. We have configured one machine with all of the recipients and carriers so that it works properly and then copied the database to the other machines. The 4 LAN connections work properly, but the Sprint line will not send the messages to the AT&T or Verizon phones. Do you have any idea why this might be? Following is an excerpt from the log file on the Sprint machine:

It looks like you may have an incorrect "Local Domain" or "Sender's Name" in your settings.

There a couple of things that you will need to do in order to send
messages using NotePager Pro and SMTP.

1.) 'Add' a Carrier named "SMTP".
2.) Select SMTP as the protocol.
3.) Enter a Local Domain. This needs to look something like "xyz.com" or "abc.net".
4.) Select "Deliver Directly to Destination Server"
5.) Make sure there is at least one DNS Server IP address listed.
This does not include "0.0.0.0", as this is not a valid IP address.
6.) Please ensure you have a 'Sender's Name' under 'Tools' - 'Settings' - 'General'.
The "Sender's Name" cannot contain any spaces or end with a period.
It can contain upper/lowercase letters, numerals, periods, hyphens/underscores.
7.) When you 'Add' or 'Edit' a Recipient, select "SMTP" from the 'Carrier' drop down list.
8.) The 'ID/Pin' field name should change to 'E-Mail To:'
9.) Type in the e-mail address for the Recipient's Cell Phone. For
Verizon this will be "10digitphonenumber@vtext.com".

A list of other Carrier SMTP Domains can be found here: http://www.notepage.net/smtp.htm

After you apply the changes, you should be able to send messages to
the SMTP (e-mail) Recipients, as long as you are connected to the Internet.

I had all of those things except for a senders name, and I had created a separate carrier for each of the carriers that we use. So I created "SMTP" as you suggested and added all of my users to that carrier and deleted all of the other carriers. Then I added a senders name and now it works. Amazing. Thank you. :-)

OK. I just figured out why it didn't work. When I set it up on the LAN it automatically put in the sender name of %Login_ID% and I copied that database over to the sprint machine and we don't log in to the sprint machine. So it had an invalid sender name. Is that probably right?

If NotePager Pro was sending "%" character or nothing for the the "Sender's Name", that would be very likely.
