We have a GetTap interface setup using a direct serial connection to accept messages from another system. It had been working fine until recently. I started seeing the following in the GetTap log:

3/22/2011 3:02:48 AM New connection accepted
3/22/2011 3:02:48 AM Received:<CR>
3/22/2011 3:02:48 AM Sending protocol identifier

3/22/2011 3:03:20 AM Sent:<CR><ESC><EOT><CR>

This continues for around 20 minutes nonstop. Then it will stop for a short time and then restart again. Over and over again. The system doesn't send messages to PageGate when the above communication is happening.

Can anyone tell me what the problem might be? Is this a problem with PageGate or the other system? Why would this be happening? Thank you.

Is that the log from the GetTAP module? That reads like it's from the GetSerial module.

Also, what communication parameters are you using?

It is from the GetTap module.

Parameters:

Baud Rate: 9600
Parity: Even
Data Bits: 7
Stop Bits: 1
Init String: DIRECT

Curious as to why sending system is sending "PG1000000" instead of the protocol specified "PG1" or "PG1000"? (too many zero's)

Could that be the reason why the system keeps sending it over and over? Is PageGate unable to respond properly?

If you wouldn't mind, please email the logs from your c:\pagegatedata\logs\ folder to support at notepage dot com. I'd really like to have a look at everything.

The protocol specifies either a PG1 or a PG1000

Since the sending system mething other than that - PageGate cannot process the message.

Did the SENDING system recently make a change/update?
