Hi,
I want to check gmail for POP messages.
If gmail incoming mail server is pop.gmail.com but operates on port 995 how can I tell PageGate to check on this port?
Thanks
Chris

Chris,
Can you check on something first? I can't remember of GMail requires SSL Certificates for POP Access. |

Hi,
They offer a port for secure and a port for not.
Thanks for the help.
Have you any experience with hooking into Castlerock SNMPC?

To change the port that GetMail uses for POP, you'll need to do the following:
1) In Windows, go to Start - Run.
2) Type the following and click on OK: regedit
3) When the registry editor comes up, expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - Software - NotePage - PageGate
4) Create a New DWord value called SMTP_Port
5) Change the value to 'decimal'
6) Edit the Value of that key to be the new port to listen to.
7) Restart the computer so Windows picks up on the new registry entry. |

There shouldn't be any issue with Windows 7 but do you have UAC enabled or disabled on your user profile? If you have it enabled, you'll need to uninstall PageGate and reinstall using these steps that authorize the program through the UAC and make sure you're not going to run into any virtualization issues:

Tech Support,
I am trying the same thing -- to pull incoming email from a gmail account. In the post above did you mean POP_Port for the key name? Also, gmail uses SSL. Does this matter? I have already tried adding this to the registry, but no luck. The log just says "POP collection started for myusername@gmail.com@pop.gmail.com", "Disconnected from server"
Thanks,
Taylor

Taylor,
POP_Port is the name of the registry key you'll need to add if you want PageGate to POP on any port other than 110. Also, Gmail should have one port for SSL connections and one port for non-SSL connections. You definitely want to use the non-SSL connection because PageGate doesn't currently support SSL. |

Thanks for your help. I used fastmail (domain fastmail.fm), and it works great. I bought the 4.99/yr account that supports POP3 w/ no SSL.
Now just need help w/ getting WCTP sent to a port other than 80 (my other post) and NotePage will solve a big problem for us.
