We're getting multiple (daily) error messages "3167 Record is Deleted" from PageGate. I have rebuilt the database several times, and have restarted the server. We're running the latest version of PageGate. Any thoughts on what is causing the issue?

In which log is that error showing up?

It's showing up in the Scheduler. The complete error message is: PG_Monitor:PGSched Program Halted. Database error: 3167 Record is deleted.

Okay, that generally references an issue in the messages table of the database and it's usually an issue that a standard rebuild can't fix. Do you have MS Access on that system?

Okay. My recommendation would be to copy the database locally to your system, open it in Access and then clear out the contents of the Messages table. After you do that, use the Compact and Repair option in Access and close the program.

Then, on the Server, shut all PageGate Services and applications down, then copy the database from your system back to the server and overwrite the existing file. Once you've done that, restart the services and that error should stop showing up.

Thanks for the info. We plan on doing this during our maintenance window tomorrow night. Is there a specific version of Access that I need to use?

No, just make sure that if you open it in Access 2010 that it doesn't try to save it in the Access 2010 format. Make sure it saves it in compatibility format for the previous version(s).

Thank you. One last question, just for clarification...I'm to delete the contents (i.e. all of the records) of the messages table? If so, what effects does that have on reporting, if any?

Thanks again

Okay, if you clear out the messages table, all of the reporting will effectively have nothing to pull on from before the date/time that you clear the table.

You could try to just do an Access Compact and Repair to see if that purges out the deleted record statement that's causing the error but I don't know if that will absolutely work. Give it a try and if it still gives you the same error, clear the table and then compact and repair and see if that fixes it.

Alright, given the options, we're going to go with B (just doing the compact & repair) and see if that works. We're not willing to throw away our records unless it's the only way to fix the problem.

If that's the case - we end up going with option A - is there a way to save a seperate copy of the database for reporting only? Would we need to purchase another copy of PageGate to run that?

Thanks

Use the Synch feature of PageGate v5 to EXPORT message records to a file - save that file for the archive
