I upgraded to version 5 last Friday. It seems to have corrected my problem with the PGMailServer dying. Thank you very much for your assistance. Now I’m seeing some behavior that is probably just my ignorance.
Currently PageGate receives messages exclusively through SMTP and we send out using only SMTP via the Internet to the various providers, <cell number>@vtext.com <cell number>@txt.att.net etc. I am seeing several messages where the subject has been dropped once it reaches the cell. Prior to the upgrade the subject did come across. I did verify that the box for “Send Subject” was checked in the recipient record.

The other issue is that if there is a colon in the message everything prior to the colon is dropped.

Thank you

I'll have the admin check... I don't have access to the server. :-(

The admin says that the send subject option is NOT checked. Should it be? She has turned it on for now and we will monitor it.

An example from the message log that was seen to fail looks like:

Quote:
"CHEST PAIN;5716 FAYETTEVILLE RD;USE MAIN FRONT DOOR [01/07/11 10:05:39 CARDEN]
DOC WITH PATIENT [01/07/11 10:05:28 CARDEN]
PATIENT IN TRAUMA ROOM 1 [01/07/11 10:05:03 CARDEN]
PATIENT JUNE JONES [01/07/11 10:04:49 CARDEN]
;E WOODCROFT PKWY;GENEVA DR"

What would then show up on the Droid X might be:

Quote:
07/11 10:04:49 CARDEN]
;E WOODCROFT PKWY;GENEVA DR

What shows up on the Droid and other alphanumeric pagers is:

Quote:
CAD:CHEST PAIN;5716 FAYETTEVILLE RD;USE MAIN FRONT DOOR [01/07/11 10:05:39 CARDEN]
DOC WITH PATIENT [01/07/11 10:05:28 CARDEN]
PATIENT IN TRAUMA ROOM 1 [01/07/11 10:05:03 CARDEN]
PATIENT JUNE JONES [01/07/11 10:04:49 CARDEN]
;E WOODCROFT PKWY;GENEVA DR

Just to doublecheck something, if you would, please email all of the pgdialX.log files from the c:\pagegatedata\logs\ folder on the server to support at notepage dot com so I can have a look at something. Also, let me know the chief's recipient name in the program.

OK... I'll check to see if the admin will release this to me to send.

Thanks!

Cris Moody e-mailed the log. The recipient in question is Billy Colley with the last four of 2141.

His carrier is VZW so the ID of aaaxxx2141@vtext.com is used.

Cris is still using V4 of the server software. Let me know if there is anything else I can try. I really think it is a Droid X issue and not a PageGate issue.
