I was looking for a way to have a second user data base. I have a user list for the Fire Dept and would like to have a second user list for the Police Dept. that would be securley separate for the other user group.
In other words, I don't want the firefighters sending the police messages or the police sending firefighters messages. Do I need another pageagate program that IT will have to put on a different server?

Are you referring to administratively in the PG Admin or just with respect to sending messages? |

Just a restriction in the client should probably work for our needs

You don't have to have a second copy of the program, then. You can use the Display Group function of PageGate version 5 to accomplish what you want. So, what you'll want to do is create two display groups, police and fire. Add only the members of the PD to the police display group, add only the members of the FD to the fire display group.
Then, go to the PageGate Clients and go to File - Setup. You should see the Display Group field. Once a client has been set to a display group, they will only ever display the members of that display group as message-able recipients. |
