|
|
We recently upgraded from 4.0 to 5.0 and the Advanced Polling seems to have stopped parsing the folder from another server. We currently use this system on our CAD to send out the information on a call in text form to our Fire/EMS providers in our county. Nothing has changed on the CAD side and the ascii files are still being generated and dropped into th directory but it seems that PageGate is not looking at the files anymore. The Polling settings are exactly what they were before we upgraded. Any ideas?
Update - It appears that it is not parsing a UNC path. Has something changed in the 5.0 version to not be able to do that?

A few things. First, are you running PageGate as a Service or an Application?
Second, are your Polling and Advanced Polling directories local or network paths?
Third, if you open the PageGate Monitor, is GetAscii red or green? |

We are running the upgrade as a service.
The directories are network paths such as:
\\servername\PageFiles
The GetASCII module is green and running.

If you go into the properties of the actual PageGate GetAscii service and go under the Log On tab, is it set to log on as a specific account or is it set to use the System Account? |

It was set to the System Account and when that didn't work we changed it to the an admin account of the local box. I wonder if that is why it can't get across the network. Let me try an account that has network access.

Problem fixed. It was because of the local admin account of the server did not have network access. I changed it to a domain account with network access and all is right with the world.
Thanks!
